Holy Tornado?

I was at home, relaxing when all of a sudden I could hear the pounding hailstones crashing against my window. The rain came down in a thunderous wave and lightening flashed angrily. The lights in my house flickered in and out. Then just as quickly as it came, it passed.

It seemed to me like an innocent enough storm, and when me and my parents went for dinner, walking down to the restaurant near the Maspeth Plateau, it was like nothing had happened.

Evidently not so for other areas of Queens where trees collapsed on cars, winds reached ungodly high speeds and commuters were forced to either walk or wait out the storm.
