Three charged for stealing tires, rims from cars in Queens

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced that three people were charged with grand larceny and other crimes for allegedly swiping tires and rims from cars parked all over the borough.

Jonathan Pacheco, Fabian Rodriguez and Jacob Martinez were all arrested for the alleged crimes, which took place between November 2019 and May 2020.

According to the charges, Pacheco was seen on video surveillance removing he lug nuts of a Honda Civic in November 2019, taking all four tires and rims. When the owner of the car returned to the spot, the Honda was propped up on milk crates.

The trio is accused of searching for parked Hondas and striking in Bellerose, Hollis, Forest Hills, Middle Village, Fresh Meadows, Flushing, Ozone Park, Richmond Hill, Glendale, Jamaica Hills, Bayside, Maspeth and Rego Park.

According to Katz, Pacheco participated in a total of 14 thefts, stealing up to $42,000 worth of tires and rims.

When he learned he was wanted by police, he fled the state, but was apprehended in Pennsylvania and was extradited to Queens this week.
