Rachel Reads: Naked Heat by Richard Castle

For the past three days I have immersed myself in this book, which is what I usually do when I get a shiny new novel to read. I haven’t had a chance to reveal this side of me yet, but I’m a huge bookie. I can devour an amazing book in a day if I set my mind to it. I will forgo human interaction for the sake of a good book.

For those of you who don’t know Richard Castle is a fictional character who is the star of a TV show called Castle. I love the show, he’s a bestselling author who follows around a police detective to get inspiration for his books and well obviously they make an awesome team.

Naked Heat is the second book in the series, the first book came out last year and was half the size, being an experiment to see if people will actually read a book written by someone who doesn’t exist.

Now I just have to say, it’s your standard detective mystery novel with a bit of romance thrown in there. It’s also got the great twists of the show included. It’s purely a book for entertainment, nobody should be looking for theories on life when reading this book, but I enjoyed it. Every once in awhile I need to read something that doesn’t completely blow my mind.

It’s a page turner, edge of your seat, looking for the killer until the end. My dad is one of those people who can figure out the standard cop shows and books all the time. Me, not so much. That’s probably why I like them so much because I don’t figure them out so easily.

So if you’re looking for something fun to read I suggest checking it out and also grabbing the first book too, Heat Wave.
