On Metropolitan Avenue in front of the Metro Mall, fences and a barrier erected onto the sidewalk and part of the road has created a potential problem for motorists.
At last week’s Community Board 5 meeting, board members brought up a complaint that the temporary barriers are blocking too many lanes along the thoroughfare.
The Rentar Plaza site is notably where Amazon will take up nearly 300,000 square feet and will have 70 vans in their fleet making deliveries daily.
District Manager Gary Giordano said he will attempt to reach out to Amazon and Metro Mall to improve the situation.
“They have these barriers out to the point where they’re over the double-yellow line,” Giordano said at the meeting.
