The 1st annual Maspeth Book Festival is approaching quickly on May 18.
The event, hosted at the Martin Luther School from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature panels, workshops, book signings, giveaways and more.
Young writers will also get to participate in a writing workshop to have their work critiqued by professional authors Alex Shvartsman and Ian Randal Strock.
The event director is Carl Paolino, a longtime Maspeth resident and veteran of the entertainment industry, who created his own publishing company.
