From March 1 to May 5, seniors are invited to attend a free art class at the Maspeth Senior Center.
Valerie Skakun, a Ridgewood-based artist, is teaching “Textures in Textiles,” a meditative class that explores the various meanings of creating patterns on fabrics. Students will engage in experimental activities while developing their artistic skills.
A special art exhibition will be presented at the end of the class.
Skakun received the SU-CASA grant from the Queens Council of the Arts to teach the class.
