For many, yesterday was trash and recycling pickup day.
Although yesterday, Veterans’ Day, was a holiday, some folks had their trash picked up and others didn’t.
Comet Civic called DSNY Queens West 5 and was told there was limited trash pickup yesterday.
According to Comet Civic, “If your trash hasn’t been picked up leave it out. Sanitation said they will be picking up today and tonight but the worst case scenario is that it will be picked up Saturday. Your recycling WILL NOT be picked up until next week so please don’t leave it curbside.”
As I understand it US Veterans who work for DSNY are perhaps afforded the opportunity to observe Veterans Day from home and with pay. That’s is what causes limited pick up. I did not see my SanMan yesterday but I saw his partner working the route. Kudos!
