Trinity St. Andrews Church Parish Hall, which has sat vacant for at least 12 years, has hit the market again as of last week, with a “For Sale” sign prominently displayed on the gate.
The Maspeth West End Block Association sent out an e-mail this week saying they’d spoken with the realtor, who said the asking price was $1.1 million, and the hall would need to undergo repairs, with extensive water damage and damage to the roof.
UPDATE 6/1: We’ve spoken with real estate agent Rene Rose, who says the building has indeed sold. No word on a buyer, but we’ll update as we get more info.
UPDATE: We spoke with Charlene Stubbs of the Maspeth West End Block Association, who said that in a conversation with the building’s real estate agent yesterday, she was told that a housing developer would be the most likely buyer, considering the extensive renovations needed to be done to the property, which would inhibit a buyer from receiving a bank loan. No interest or potential buyers to report as of yet. Currently, the property is only zoned for a church, or one or two-family homes.
Our calls to the realtor have gone unreturned, and a call to the church yielded a rep who said they had been advised not to discuss the sale at this time. We’ll update as more info comes in.
