Thanks to the help of Good Samaritans, a Middle Village man who sexually assaulted a local woman was caught by the 104th Precinct early this week.
The attack on the 32-year-old woman occurred on the 60th Avenue foot bridge near Van Horn Street in Maspeth at roughly 8:50 p.m., and was allegedly perpetrated by 28-year-old Jaime Rada-Bayona from Middle Village.
After the assault, the perpetrator attempted to flee westward from the 112th Precinct into the 104th Precinct, but the woman chased him yelling. Nearby locals heeded her call, subduing him long enough for police to arrive.
In a statement from the precinct, a representative said Rada-Bayona was arrested and charged with Forcible Touching, Sexual Abuse, Harassment and Assault for striking one of the Good Samaritans in the face while they attempted to subdue him,” said a representative of the 104th Precinct.
