The Department of Transportation has stated that 60th Street meets the criteria for having speed bumps to help slow down traffic. They are asking for support for the installation of speed bumps to be installed along 60^th Street in Maspeth which is a route many drivers use to avoid the traffic on Fresh Pond Road towards Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village when going in a southerly direction. The transportation community of Community Board #5, Queens, will meet at their Glendale office on the evening of March 22 to discuss the issue. This street is behind PS 153. See map:

A speed bump is desired on 60 Street between 59^th Drive and 60^th Avenue, also on 60th Street between 60^th Avenue and 60^th Road and a third speed bump on 60 Street between 60^th Road and 60^th Drive.
