According to a letter sent to parents, Catherine Mangone, a resident of Middle Village, and ‘longtime’ teacher at St. Stans school (on Grand Avenue @ 61 St. in Maspeth) has been selected to lead the school beginning today.
Originally opened in 1930, St. Stanislaus school has been one of the few Brooklyn/Queens Catholic Diocese schools to be debt-free. It is known to be financially sound and will continue to provide an efficient learning environment for academics and religion.
“Everyone loves Mrs. Mangone, I had her as a teacher,” said a 28-year-old man, who is an alum of the school. “… and she loves the school,” he said.
