As you may have heard, PS 58 in Maspeth, St. Adalbert in Elmhurst and Middle Village Prep in Middle Village were all targets of social media shooting threats.

In a letter written by St. Adalbert principal Sister Kathleen to parents, she said as of December 4, the situation remains under investigation.

The investigation has been taken up by the NYPD Intel Division.

St. Adalbert’s will have a security guard on school premises every day through the last day of school in June. The school has also purchased additional security cameras for all the staircases within the annex, main building, gym, cafeteria and he roof.

At the beginning and end of every school day, students, faculty and staff will pray to Saint Michael the Archangel, the patron saint for times of trouble.

“With our prayers, God’s intervention and the great work of the individuals conducting the investigation, hopefully closure to this situation will be reached soon,” Sister Kathleen says.
