Martin Luther HS vs. McClancy HS varsity basketball game is this Thursday

High school basketball season is here, and if you are a fan of local high school basketball, this will be an exciting game to watch.

Msgr. McClancy high school varsity basketball program, with decades of success led by coach Anthony Olszewski, is hosting Martin Luther high school, a program that has been recently revitalized by varsity coach, John Sanchez.

mlsvmccThe game is this Thursday, November 30th, at 4:30pm at McClancy high school.

The game that boasts young talent and more than a few college level athletes. McClancy is located at 71-06 31st Ave, East Elmhurst, NY 11370.

Coach Olszewski aka “Coach O”, has run McClancy’s strong program for nearly a decade and has had great success. Coach O is constantly improving his team’s “basketball IQ”, by running effective film sessions that analyze mistakes during their previous game. “This allows us to key in on specific areas of growth & improvement,” said coach O.

Sending student-athletes to play at the next level is a testament to the program’s strength. Graduates of McClancy’s program are currently playing at LIU Post, Sage College, Delaware Valley, SUNY Purchase, & Hunter College… just to name a few. Follow McClancy basketball on Instagram at @McClancyvbb.

Coach Sanchez, in his 3rd year as head of Martin Luther’s basketball program, has been attracting talent from all over Queens to join a program that is determined to develop student-athletes for the next level.

“We are establishing a winning culture by focusing on 3 main things; hard work, preparation, and accountability,” said Coach Sanchez. “These 3 things apply to both basketball and academics,” said Sanchez.

Coach Sanchez has sent graduates of MLS’ program to play at Concordia College, Mount Saint Vincent College, Paul Smith College, and Knox Preparatory Academy.
