“Come join the Maspeth Blitzball League and relive your childhood by playing wiffle ball again,” says Jim Johnson, co-organizer of the Maspeth Blitzball league.

Blitzball is a new type of wiffle ball invented a few years back to try and breathe life back into wiffle ball. There are no more skinny yellow bats that are impossible to get hits with, and no more white flimsy balls that break every other swing.

MBL is looking to start small with 6 to 8 teams of 5 players (co ed welcome )for this first season, which will be 6 weeks starting early September.

Each team will play two (2) 5 inning games every Saturday. All teams will make playoffs.

The fee to enter will be 250 and if paid in full by the first game a 50 dollar discount will be applied.

Games will be played at Forest Park on the asphalt field on 82nd and myrtle ave.

At the end of season there will be a HR derby that the best hitters from each team can compete in.
