Maspeth bank targeted in string of Queens robberies

3545-16-mcs-bank-rob-pattern-30-new-photoThe Chase Bank located at 54-12 48th Street in Maspeth was the latest target in a string of recent bank heists in Queens.

Police are looking for a man who has stolen more than $17,720 from at least six different banks from September 30 to December 27.

Yesterday afternoon, at about 2:40 p.m., the man, pictured above, passed a note to the teller demanding cash. The teller complied, giving him $5,000 before the suspect fled.

In each robbery, the suspect passed the teller a note demanding money.

The thief also robbed Chase Banks in the following neighbors:

  • Briarwood ($2,100)
  • Bayside ($5,000)
  • Jamaica ($4,620)
  • Richmond Hill ($1,000)
  • Forest Hills (Unknown amount)
  • Maspeth ($5,000)
