Knicks forward Cleanthony Early was shot in the knee after he left a Maspeth strip club early Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened around 4:15 a.m. about a mile from CityScapes. Early, 24, was in an Uber car with his girlfriend when it was reportedly boxed in by three vehicles.

A group of up to six armed men wearing ski mask approached the vehicle and took Early’s jewelry, including a gold necklace and gold caps on his teeth. At some point, Early was shot in the right knee. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

CityScapes recently opened in the spot of a former gentleman’s club, Rouge, at 55-61 58th Street.

He joins teammate Derrick Williams as the latest Knick to be targeted by thieves. Approximately $600,000 in jewelry disappeared from his apartment just before Christmas, the prime suspects being two girls who were partying with the Knick forward early on the morning of December 23.

On Tuesday night, Early saw about 30 seconds of action in the Knicks win over the Pistons at Madison Square Garden. The Bronx native and 2014 draft pick out of Wichita State as played in ten games for the Knicks this year.

UPDATE: 

According to police, Early was reportedly shot at the intersection of Maurice Avenue and Tyler Avenue, on the border of Maspeth and Woodside, despite some reports stating he was shot outside CityScapes.

Police say as he left the club, he was followed then subsequently stopped and surrounded by a few cars with people in ski masks while in an Uber car. Police are not certain whether his car was fleeing or just going to another location, but the where the incident occurred was about a half mile past the entrance to the LIE so it does not appear that they were headed to Manhattan.
