Officers arrest two at massage parlor

Arrest

According to Captain Mark Wachter of the 104th Precinct, police officers made two arrests at a local spa last Friday.

Two women, both Asian and in their 50s, were arrested for soliciting two undercover VICE officers for sex at the Lily Aroma Spa. The massage parlor, which is located at 60-24 Flushing Avenue, only opened recently in October.

The VICE enforcement unit also closed down another massage parlor, Dream Spa, at 65-18 Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood, by court order recently.

At a recent Community Board 5 meeting, resident Kerry McAdams voiced opposition to the plethora of massage parlors cropping up in Maspeth, Ridgewood, Middle Village, Glendale and other neighborhoods.

“They seem to be popping up on every other block on Metropolitan Avenue, Myrtle Avenue, Fresh Pond Road,” McAdams said. “They seem to open overnight and they seem to never close.”

“When one closes, another one seems to replace it a block or two away,” she added.
